The Bahamas Crisis Centre has lost a friend, a brother, and a trailblazer in the fight against Gender-based Violence and related matters whether in the home, in schools and the wider community across the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
Mike has been a member of The Rotary Club of East Nassau since 2011, and served as Community Service Chairman.
He has been a member of: The Rotary Clubs of The Bahamas Disaster Committee, and The Rotary Clubs of The Bahamas Road To Peace Committee since 2016, serving as Chairman since 2019.
Mike has been also a member of the National Neighbourhood Watch Council since 2018, and the president of his neighbourhood crime watch since 2020.
He has been a member of the Advisory Council on Crime since 2019, a member of the White Ribbon Campaign since 2021, and a former member of the Rehabilitation Of Offenders Committee from 2019 to 2021. Mike is also a A Paul Harris Fellow recipient – an honour for outstanding work in Rotary.
Mike has assisted The Bahamas Crisis Centre with numerous projects, namely the anti-violence Green Ribbon Campaign to promote peace within the schools, Boys Symposium and the leader in his Rotary Club’s sponsoring our Annual Children’s Christmas Party.
He will be terribly missed.
On behalf of our Director, Dr Sandra Dean-Patterson and Board of Directors, Volunteers, and partners we express heartfelt condolences to Mike’s family, and fellow Rotarians. May his Soul Rest in Peace.
