Volunteer
How you can help
The Crisis Centre is primarily run through the efforts of volunteers who undergo a structured training programme that enables them to handle the specific, sensitive issues of rape survival, sexual harassment, domestic violence survival, child abuse, depression etc. The training is implemented on a bi-annual basis. By 2002 the Crisis Centre had trained over 500 volunteers.
Volunteers currently man a 24-hour crisis hotline, offer rape survivor advocacy in the emergency room of the hospital, domestic violence survivor advocacy in selected police stations, support of sexual assault victims who have to attend court, and an educational outreach programme in The Primary and Secondary Schools, through its Green Ribbon Anti Bullying Campaign and its
Healthy Relationships Campaign.
